Abdoulaye Elimane Kane was born on October 6, 1941 in Kayes, Mali. Holder of a State Doctorate in Philosophy, Professor Kane first taught philosophy at the Lycée Blaise Diagne, then at the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar as a Master of before becoming Head of the Department of Philosophy.
